Growth Moments
When we become unselfish in our dealings with others, these are the Growth Moments and it is good to recall them. Growth Moments are also closely linked with God Moments.

Annual School Community Meeting

We've Gone Cashless
Moving forward into 2023, the School, Care Centres, and Uniform Shop will become cashless from 1st January 2023. School Fees can be paid over the counter via Credit Card or Bank Card, by Direct Debit, or via your online banking through BPAY. Uniform Shop orders will remain online and through the shop, with the shop accepting payment via EFTPOS only. Canteen orders will remain online, and the Canteen will still accept cash orders in the morning and cash sales during the day.

Online Uniform Orders 2023
The Uniform Shop are now taking online orders for 2023. Orders placed before the 25th November, will be packed and ready to send home to families prior to the end of term. We encourage all families to utilise the online ordering system to reduce wait times, as opening days will be limited during the January period.

Out of School Hours Care News
Can you believe that Term 4 is over halfway through? Here at OSHC the time has flown by, and we have had so much fun. Especially this week on our fun movie themed half day in the hall.
Our Vacation Planner for the December/January holidays has been released recently and bookings are now open. If you would like to book in for Vacation Care, please do so via the Xplor app or email us on oshc@sots.wa.edu.au as soon as possible to secure your place.
Our amazing ELC friends will soon be joining us here in the OSHC for Vacation Care which we are very excited for! They will be able to join our amazing OSHC crew and enjoy all of the fun things we have planned before starting their amazing adventure in Kindy next year.
If you have any ideas of things you would like to see here at OSHC, we would love to hear them! This could be activities, resources or even incursions you think your child/ren may like.
Early Learning Centre Care News
Its all about the Community here in the ELC at the moment and it has been wonderful to see. We have been builders, police officers, detectives, firefighters and even teachers. I wonder who we will be next week?
We would like to take the time to remind all families that if your child/ren are moving up to Kindergarten in February 2023, they will be attending OSHC in January Vacation Care. This will give all of our lovely ELC friends the chance to meet the OSHC team before stating at Kindy in February.
If you have not yet done so and would like your child/ren to attend OSHC, please make sure you have completed an OSHC enrolment form via the Star of the Sea website.
Over the coming weeks we will be going on some adventures here in the ELC to familiarise everyone with Kindy and the OSHC. We cannot wait to have a look around at our new environments.
Gateway
Hello! Fr. Pier here.
I pray you are well.
Every year we have parents of our Catholic schools students who choose to revive or explore their Catholic journey.
In the past we offered the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), which helps to understand the contents of our faith.
Something was missing: a space where people could deepen their personal relationship with Jesus and our community.
This space is essential: with a living relationship with Jesus, the Catholic journey is a joy. Without it, it is a chore.
People will gauge with their leaders when they are ready to move towards RCIA, which is more like headspace.
This year we started from this space of experience, which we called Gateway.
We have just started.
If you wish to deepen your journey or start it altogether, you are welcome – come with your personal story.
- What: Gateway. We share a meal, some insight, our experiences, and prayer.
- When: on Tuesdays at 6.30 pm
- Where: the presbytery, on the left of the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes.
- Contact: Pierluigi.Vajra@cewa.edu.au. For catering purposes, it would be great if you let us know.
Advent Season 2022
First week of Advent begins early this year. Next weekend 27th November is the first Sunday of Advent. At Our Lady of Lourdes Parish we are promoting Advent Wreaths to help prepare for the birth of Jesus. One of the Advent Wreaths we are using is pictured above. It is a very simple wreath to make and the link for the You tube tutorial is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMqQc0QuN8U&t=361s
There are packs made up that include the card/paper, the prayer card for the 4 weeks of Advent and also Mass times for the Christmas celebrations. These packs can be picked up from the front office at Star of the Sea Primary School.
The outdoor Mass at Kolbe College on Christmas Eve is a great way to begin our Christmas weekend. A sausage sizzle will be available after the 6pm mass at Kolbe College. The Youth Choir will lead the singing and we also have a Nativity Scene for any of the children who would like to dress up and be part of this celebration. We would love to see you there. My phone number is 0403417578 if you have any queries about the wreath or the nativity scene.
God Bless
